Wild

The wind got up during the night and the rain started just before 7am and hasn't stopped since (and not forecast to until Sunday, though it might lessen for a while tomorrow).
The Health Walk was cancelled but we still had cafe so there was still shopping to do and then helping prepare as one of the volunteers is ill. 3 more couldn't be there because of holidays which left us rather short but the weather kept a few away so we coped.
I went for a short walk to see how the ponds and burn are doing, the burn is still about a foot below the level is got to a couple of weeks back but there's a lot of rain to come. The ponds were not particularly full, this new sluice gate seems to be working, though it looks fairly temporary to me, so we'll see what happens over the next couple of days.
The back garden is strewn with branches, they'll have to stay put for now, at least we aren't going to be flooded as is likely for people in other parts of the area.
