Save the tree!

This tree was planted in 1982 on the edge of a park with a kindergarten and a playground.  Its purpose is to hinder cars from driving through so that the children can play safely. And cyclists have to slow down when they move past. Now the city council wants to remove the tree and make a straight bike path. People are demonstrating against it because they fear that it will make the cyclists speed up and increase the risk of accidents. I hope that the politicians will come to their senses and let the tree stay!
