We weren't sure if we would be able to depart our holiday accommodation by the intended route due to the extent of flooding that had occurred around the Welshpool area. After making a couple of detours we did manage to make it on to the Shrewsbury road and then to the A5 and onwards to the north without any issues. Unfortunately, many people will be experiencing problems around here from the effects of the excessive rainfall and the subsequent flooding. The main image shows a view from the A458 roadside, looking back towards Welshpool, and showing the extent to which the Severn has burst its banks. The extra is a wide-angle view from the same position.
