Calum Veitch Bench

This morning the bench I walk past every day was covered in flowers so clearly it was an anniversary of someone to whom the bench was dedicated. I read the plaque and realised it was someone relatively young who had died, as most benches are dedicated to older people who enjoyed sitting in that spot. I wondered why a young man from Portobello would have a bench in Queens Park. He died from falling from Salisbury Crags after a night out and just 17 years old. Not sure the significance of the coke bottle though!

So rather a sad start to the day
