Shiny Aubergine
The largest of this year’s homegrown aubergines. I’ve been leaving it on the plant as long as I dare but with cooler nights I decided it was time to pick it and bring it inside. I’ve been surprised how many aubergines we’ve managed to successfully grow. The plants have been in the garden and at the allotment rather than in a greenhouse and I’ve not given them any special protection.
A day walking Merlin and reorganising the plants in the front garden, which included digging up a deep rooted shrub which had outgrown the available space. I felt I’d earned my lunch and a sit down afterwards.
