This diversion to travel east is necessary because the Council is making adjustments to the Spaces For People arrangement near the entrance to the Hermitage, closing the road, forcing all traffic down the main road. I doubt this will be an improvement to vehicular traffic but will be very different from the present ill-considered  chaos.
