Longhill Hanging Wood

I decided to take the spaniel on a walk through Longhill Hanging Wood near Pishill this morning. It was a mistake. Not far into the walk we came across the beaters and then the shooting began as pheasants were driven out of the woods into the open. Despite being a 'gun dog' the spaniel is terrified of loud noises. The game shooting season is a nightmare around here as all the estates have weekend and weekday shoots and you have no way of knowing where they will be. I need to re-think our dog walking routes for the next three and a bit months.
