Saddle up

A cold grey day today. I found lots of these white 'saddle' fungi in the woods behind our house. This is Helvella crispa, also known as White Elfin Saddle, with its celery-like fluted stem and highly distorted cap. None of them looked like a saddle, elfin or otherwise.
