LYZZICK HALL HOTEL, KESWICK

Blue skies when we first got up this morning.  Hubby therefore wanted to go down to Kents Bank Station to do some tidying up of his patch and the platforms in general.

G  and I decided to go up The Lakes but we were aware that as it was half- term everywhere was going to be busy.  So I booked us a table for lunch at The Lyzzick Hall Hotel, Keswick.

Oh this is my entry for Wide Wednesday, with many thanks to BobBlips for hosting.  The them is actually stones or bricks which I hadn't realised - however the Cumbrian Fells are lots of rock which is a form of stone, so does that count!!??

I'd never heard of this place before but it is actually outside of Keswick at the foot of Skiddaw.

I drove up the A590, M6 to Junction 40 at Penrith, then the A66 and onto the A591 to the hotel.  All good.  Some hold ups due to road works otherwise not to bad.

We had a wander around the grounds, had a coffee and then went for lunch.  Lovely friendly staff, fabulous food and we had to sit and look at the view above whilst we ate.  I know, it's really tough, but someone's got to do it!!   I think that is Grisedale Pike over there somewhere, but please forgive me if I've got that wrong,

After a lovely leisurely lunch, a chat to the owner and another walk around we headed back home but through Keswick and The Lakes.  The roads were quite busy and Ambleside was heaving of course.

I was going to call into Hayes on the way back but the car park was over full so we didn't bother.  We just enjoyed the views, despite it now being a little bit drizzly.

Still no date or news about Hubby's op, so this is obviously colouring everything I do at the moment.  The worse is of course, that there is nothing we can do except wait and just hope the op is in good time.

Glad we went out today though as the weather doesn't look too bac for the next couple of days.

Do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
