Spooky

Neither of us like Halloween. In fact, we’re both out doing other things on the night of 31st October, so I’m not sure why we had a pumpkin in the house. Further investigation revealed that it was for one of Mrs C’s photography projects. Said project now being completed, the pumpkin has been put in the garden for the birds to feed on.
I must confess that I thought the way to do this was to cut the pumpkin in half so the birds can access the seeds, rather than chop the top off it and carve a grotesque face in it. The fact that I’ve not seen any birds in the garden since this scary apparition appeared may, of course, be entirely coincidental.
For the first time in over ten years, we have decided to return to the same place we went to this year for next years holiday. Even more unusually for us, we have actually booked the holiday almost a year in advance. After a productive trip to the travel agent this afternoon, we will once again be holidaying in Sorrento at the end of September. We are going to the same hotel but, because we are booking early, we have managed to bag a room with sea view and balcony (neither of which we had this year) and are stopping for nine nights instead of seven. And whilst I thought the price might begin with a “3” - or possibly even a “4” - I was pleasantly surprised that the overall total starts with a “2”! The top end of “2” admittedly, but considering the extra nights and the upgrade to the room, I’m very pleased with the deal.
Just the eleven months to wait now - and making sure we remember to renew the passports when they expire next March!
