River of Flowers

Wednesday: Dolly Tub & Mansion Polish …

… and a Spider plant to complete the 1960s vibe, or maybe even 1940s …??
More information, if you’re interested - http://www.oldandinteresting.com/history-of-washing-clothes.aspx

This tin of Mansion Polish probably dates back to the 1950s or 60s - both of the houses which our family lived in during thas time had parquet flooring on the ground floor (apart from the kitchen & scullery which had dark red tiles) - my mother would send us kids out to play whilst she cleaned the floors. When she moved to live near us the Polish tin came too and eventually ended up in my greenhouse where it has rusted and has now been thrown in the bin :-(

I started clearing out the greenhouse this morning, a job I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of years but haven’t had the strength or motivation - weather was calm today and perfect for this job!

The Spider plant spends the summer months outside and goes back into the greenhouse when it gets cold and frosty …

ADDED LATER: very early the morning there was a small black & white woodpecker on the fence around our neighbour’s gas tank - been a while since I’ve seen one!

Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX

Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
