Chimneys
Seeing that the sunset looked promising, I picked my daughter up from ballet, dropped her at the gate and then headed out to see if I could catch the sun before it went down. Fortunately, the location I chose kept the sun until it actually set.
The view is across a rapefield and over the Tamar Valley. Most of the flowers have died back now, but there are still a few patches of yellow on the field. However, I chose this shot, rather than one with some of the flowers on.
The clouds give the impression of smoke coming out of the far chimney, but that hasn't happened for more than a century.
I got into trouble with my daughter tonight - I went to pick her up from work, but waited at the wrong house. I realised my mistake and hotfooted for the other house, but I was too late - she's started walking to her grandma's, which is not too far away. I set off for there and spotted her about halfway. As she'd done an all-nighter the night before and then a full day' s work, she was really tired and not at all best pleased - understandably! Anyway, she is talking to me again now.
Apart from that a very domesticated day. I'm off for a week's cycling holiday on Saturday, so if you see three or four balding old blokes wobbling along the side roads of Cambridgeshire in the next week, stopping at almost every pub and teashop between Youth(!) Hostels, I'll be the one with the camera. Tomorrow will be my last blip for a week, but I should have plenty of choice by the time I get back.
