nonna, ho rovesciato il dolce

(Grandma, I spilled the dessert.)

I don’t think I have blipped any food before, and I am very unlikely to, but I had to do this one for this name and the art of it. It was a small reward and a bit of humour after a very wet day.

We have had the good fortune to go on many trips since we retired. The weather has almost always been great. But Mother Nature has a way of evening things out. When we get bad weather, it usually really intense.

There was the mid-Atlantic hurricane on our very first cruise. There was a tornado in Ajaccio, Corsica. There was a tropical rainstorm in Noosa, Australia. And there was an atmospheric river in Cannes, France that caused the mudslides that flooded the villages of Cinque Terre and devastated some of the trails.

Today we add the thunderstorm cloudbursts in Lucca. We were out for just over an hour before we finally gave up.

However, a great Lucchese meal in a very cozy restaurant, and a cute dessert, and all is right with the world.

Gelato is good in any weather.
Puccini relaxing in the rain while two Lucchese hurry home to get dry.
