Orange You Glad?

To be home again
To sleep in your own bed
With pure cotton bedding
Beside your best friend
After a hot shower
To eat salmon marinated in soy sauce and ginger
With new potatoes, leeks and courgettes
That it's raining
And the olives you picked are soaking in its water
Losing their bitterness
That the Lake is filling again
And the hills are greening
That you saw a grey heron close up
And an egret and some geese
And a rabbit racing across the path
That your daughters rang for a chat
That your grandchildren all love books
And are healthy
That you even have them
That you have an abundance of oranges
And even more on the trees
That you've been reading a good book
In bed, with a mug of tea
And your own bedside light and bookshelves
And that your home is cosy
With purring cats?

Yes, I am.

And, of course, a camera
And Blip, that helps me savour the simple things!
