A Bird, a Bridge. and a Boat

Mike and I had our usual boardwalk alongside the Tagus while waiting for a plane to take off, so we are available in case it doesn't. But it did, and Sharon is now safely in Munich.

Gratefuls:
- good conversation, before Sharon left, with Emanoel and Francine
- calling in on the Anemas on the way home, and finding them in good spirits
- getting safely home after over a week away, and lighting the fire to warm up a rather damp house; incredible to think that about a fortnight ago, we were sheltering inside from the heat with the air con on! 
- dipping good sourdough into a pan of garlicky tomatoes and basil; a recipe we learnt off a Frenchman in a restaurant in Pipa, RN, Brasil, many years ago
