Early evening sunshine

At last the sun comes out, fitfully, but at the right time to light up the trees and darken the retreating clouds. This view was taken over land near Sutton Street in Bearsted looking over land that used to belong to Miss Moores who died this year. I like these sorts of dramatic scenes but they are so difficult to catch.

There was always a great fear that this land would be built on in the future after she has died that she donated it to the Bearsted Woodland Trust and was able to see and help the Trust plant a new hedge all the way around the perimeter in the autumn of 2011.

Miss Moores ran stables and kept horses on these fields until this spring. After her death the horses went and the paddocks have been allowed to grow which gives more interesting foreground.

Earlier in the day we'd spent a morning at Maidstone Hospital getting news which could have been given 18 months ago and saved everyone a lot of time and money. Still, it was good news and it showed, in a way, that the staff had fully exercised their duty of care.
