Long Room Ceiling

The day started with a fabulous tour of Trinity College and the Book of Kells. Our student guide could not have been any more entertaining and informative.  This is the ceiling of the Long Room.  Most of the books have been removed to be placed in a temporary exhibit while the Long Room gets a renovation that will make things a bit more fire-proof.  The fire at Notre Dame in Paris prompted this decision. 


We then headed off for the requisite tour of the Guiness Storehouse.  It was pretty touristy, but the view from the top floor while we enjoyed our complementary Guiness was worth the trip.  We ended the day at the Old Post Office with its amazing exhibit about the 1916 Easter Uprising.
