Light in the Darkness?

I don't often share my politics or world views here but I was very struck by an interview with a young Palestinian girl in Gaza that I heard on the radio.   Her words chimed with a thought that had crossed my mind.  ".... please stop this genocide ...."   I hope that history does not apply that word to what is happening in Gaza right now.   What is the right response to terrorist attacks?   I don't know but while violence breeds more violence I don't think we will find the answer.

Crocus laevigatus, very variable flower markings and shade which is in part due to populations evolving independently after becoming isolated by changes in sea level.  It's found around the coast of Greece including the Cyclades Islands.  It's a surprisingly robust garden plant in the UK .... if the slugs don't find it, flowering later in autumn in cooler weather, when slugs are a bit less active, it survives better than some species.

A trip to Aberystwyth today with my Mum and Chris.  We dropped mum's old mobility scooter off for service/repair in the hope that it can be of use in London when Mum returns home in a week or so.   Then lunch and some shopping at Morrisons and a stop in the town centre where I picked up a new pair of shoes from a 'proper shoe shop'.   I've found that cheaper options simply don't last long, making them more expensive in the long run.

After taking Meg and Bella for a run, it's an evening at home where I need to work on a new talk due to be given in Shrewsbury in ten days time.   Meg at my feet is seemingly energised by new food prescribed by the vet to try and address her gut problems.  Not sure if I'll get much peace.
