I did an internet search on Lensbaby and fashion in hopes I could figure out something to do for the ten year old and her fashion shoot. I found a lovely YouTube video by a fashion photographer on using the Lensbaby Omni system (cool stuff you put in front of the lens). 

I'm also thinking I could use gels and gobos to create funky backgrounds. 

I'm watching a class on fashion posing. It seems to be all about creating triangles with your body. 

So much fun to learn.

There is a 31-year-old named Herman Smetanin who used to direct a tank factory. When Russia invaded in February 2022 he and his workers continued production whenever Russia wasn't bombing them. They filled every contract. He has now been appointed to run the state defense consortium known as Ukroboronprom. It is inefficient and corrupt. 

Oleksandr Kamyshin was appointed to lead the strategic industries ministry. He previously turned around the railways. Rather than have one Soviet-style gigantic plant he'll have many smaller plants across the country. It is safer to have many smaller plants. 

In addition to receiving aid, Ukraine is building capacity. 

Ukraine's drone industry allows it to take the war to Russia and hit Russia's military factories. It recently hit a facility that produces decalin, a fuel additive essential for rockets. It hit a plant that makes circuitry for missiles. It is trying to shatter Russia's facade of normality and it is trying to stop Russia's blockade. 

Research by the Centre for Sustainable Peace and Democratic Development suggests Ukrainians are more optimistic about the future and believe that future generations will be better off.
