Moment of Serenity
I went into work super early so I could get my productivity on. I have an incredible volume of computer work to contend with. It was great until colleagues started arriving, then there were way to many distractions (mostly in the form of requests or questions). So I promptly packed up my laptop, some papers and went home (with permission of course).
On my way, I cut through Clapham Common. I usually try to stick to the road because I always feel a bit awkward cycling across zebra walks or getting in the way of pedestrians in parks. But today I needed to take the cycling easy (so tired) and Clapham Common is a halfway point for me.
I went into the little wooded area and was immediately surprised at how it felt like I was far away in the countryside. Except for the car noises. And screaming children. And the hoards of yummy mummies, or whatever they're called, doing whatever trendy workout ridiculousness is in fashion these days. I had to wait a while, but once they all cleared out, I was able to get this shot.
As a side note: I've been using a new HDR app recently, which I used for this shot. It turned the leafy greeness into retina searing radiation. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just my own exhaustion causing my eyes to freak out, but in order to prevent potential blindness in my viewers, I thought it looked best in B&W.
