Farewell to Hoy

Retreated from Hoy after the Friends of the Hoy Kirk had hosted an event as part of the Orkney Story Telling Festival.  It was very well attended.  Met ‘My pal Wullie’ who is well on with trimming up a house on Graemsay.  He reported he now has mains water but will never have the hydro – he says two Tilley lamps are sufficient. 
 
Stuart and Pete arrived late morning to spin some groovy platters.  No matter how esoteric the playlist was the play of the day was an album released 65 years ago.  We played the whole album on vinyl – Somethin’ Else.  Hits the spot every time.
 
In Glasgow on Tuesday 7th July 1992 the evening was warmish, slightly overcast with an exceedingly light drizzle.  How many of you were at the gig in the Barrowland?
