Saturday: Hazel Pruning
Another warm and sunny day, after breakfast MrD brought his mini electric saw out to finish cutting back the long straight stems of the hazel rootstock of the twisted hazel, today’s Blip. I spent an hour or so cutting them down into poles for supporting beans, peas etc. Thinner branches which I may use for wreaths - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2518488898703724115
There’s a clematis growing through the twisted hazel, some pieces of it had broken off during the pruning so I’ve potted up a handful of them as cuttings, always worth a try …
Mum and 3 baby hedgehogs were busy crunching their biscuits and drinking their water before 5pm …
