Sunday: Seeds for Spring
First day of British Wintertime wasn’t too bad at all - a chilly start but the sun came out and it was a very pleasant day!
My friend who looks after the Cottage Garden Society Seed Swap had sent me 2 packets of short viability seeds, which I’ve sown this morning so as not to forget about them, they are fully hardy so will go outside after they have germinated.
Whilst I was in the greenhouse preparing compost for the seeds I realised that I had company - a very large shield bug (which might be a Green Shield bug - https://gardensafari.net/english/shieldbugs.htm )
Found some packets of flower seeds (also from CGS seed swap) they are hardy geraniums so sowed them as well, mixed Geraniums pratense, g. bohemicum and mixed g. phaem … looking forward to maybe some new “favourites” next year - this year’s star was https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2718566135820714347
My gardening friends from over the road came to fetch the hazel poles from yesterday’s pruning and left me a very nice tray of strawberry plants, thank you!
Had a very interesting FaceTime with The Sailor who arrived in Taipei yesterday after a week in Busan, on a business trip in the Far East :-)
Love and hugs to all my family XXXX XXX XX
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
