Mull Book Festival
This morning my friend Tim and I walked down to the ferry terminal to catch the 7.50 ferry to Mull, en route to the Mull Book Festival in Tobermory. It was the Chugging Bathtub, aka Loch Frisa, for the moment as the Isle of Mull is standing in for yet another ferry breakdown somewhere else.
Daughter One picked us up in Craignure and we set off for Tobermory. She went to an earlier talk at the Western Isles Hotel and I met author Alexander McCall Smith and a few others outside and got them to pose for a photograph, my Blip today. Tim and I then went for a walk and came back in time for the three of us to attend Isabella Tree's talk on her new publication, 'The Book of Wilding' a follow up to her original book about the rewilding of her farm at Knepp in Sussex. It was very interesting and apparently the most popular of all the talks by a number of authors. I would thoroughly recommend her books.
Afterward we drove to Glengorm where we enjoyed a good lunch before boarding the bus for Craignure and the ferry home. Daughter One was staying on to hear Alexander McCall Smith later in the day.
An excellent day all round!
