Treasure Island!
A busy day with children and grandchildren. First we went to Kew Gardens and to the children’s playground where they love climbing all the various structures plus going on the trampolines. Very few people there, we had just a bit of drizzle at first and then a big downpour so we all got rather wet despite good raincoats and retreated to the glasshouses. They like looking at the fish and all the cacti in the Princess of Wales Conservatory.
After lunch our granddaughter was going to a ‘Halloween’ themed birthday party dressed as a witch. ( I blipped the dress I mended a while ago) she really looked the part with a big witches hat.
So I took my son and two grandsons to a production of Treasure Island at our local amateur theatre in Hampton Hill. It is a lovely little theatre so good views of the stage as not too big. It was very well acted but they had adapted the script from the original story so I found that a bit unnecessary and more difficult to follow! The boys were well behaved though and seem to enjoy it all.
Feeling tired now with the time change and a busy day.
