Another day Another picturesque photo

Venice really has so many gorgeous areas, it’s difficult to choose a favourite photos of the day!

We were up and out early today again.  We got the Vaporetto from the pontoon near our hotel which is two stops away from the stop at St Marks.  We then hopped on another one that took us up to the Dorsoduro area.  It’s a lot quieter with picturesque small canals and little bridges over them.  We walked a little bit and then had a coffee in the delightful Campo Santa Margherita where we sat outside with the locals with a v good cappuccino and a warm croissant which they called a brioche, straight out of the oven.

We then had a couple of church visits one was marvelling at the wonderful roof at the Chiesa di San Pantaleone - stunning and then a walk to the magnificent Sang Maria Gloriosa.  I am always awe struck by these masters and just how many are in the Catholic Church.  I meant this church was rammed with works of art including this intricate wooden carving of a clock with so much meaning carved into it from the 17 century by baroque artist Pianta - so much wonder!

We then jumped on the No 1 vaporetto and got front seats which took us on a long trip on the canals including the Grand Canal.  The sun was shining, glittering on the water and admired all the fabulous architecture on the grand houses canalside.

Started to get peckish so we found a brilliant restaurant run by refugees from many countries and each dish was from their particular country.  Delicious.

Another walk in another district, then yet another trip in the vaporetto.

Time to get back to our island and this was the view as the sun was setting.  Another fab day.
