A daisy not a poppy

Local blippers have been asking if there are any poppy fields in the area this year, as ones that featured last year don't seem to be blooming.

I knew of a corner of a field where there were poppies but it was hard to park nearby and quite lethal to get there - as it is actually on the roundabout on the Burntwood road out of Lichfield.

I parked in a layby and made my way down. It was sunny when I got out of the car - it was windy and cloudy when I got the 100 yards to the spot.

I managed to lose my lens cap (irritatingly not attached on the new Lumix !)
I scratched myself on the barbed wire
I nearly managed a photo of the first blue butterfly I've seen this year
It is there really - hiding

The poppyfield isn't ready really
but here it is anyway

So I ended up blipping a daisy..... inevitably blowing in the wind as I stooped to shoot
