Here be hares

Bean has put up hares in this paddock several times over the last few weeks. It’s a good nose-workout for her, and good exercise as she quarters the whole area. All I do is walk around the perimeter and keep an eye open for fleeing lagomorphs. There was no sign today, despite her thorough investigation of every clump of grass. 

It suddenly feels like summer already, despite it being a month away yet. While we’re still having cool nights (3C last night) the daytime temps are around 20C. 

Local landscapes have taken on a much more rounded and less jagged appearance now that all the trees are in full leaf. The bulbs are over for the year. Nights get dark well after 8.30 and I’m getting up long after the dawn chorus. Love it!
