Black Crag (Fell) & Holme Fell

Not a brilliantly sunny day, but the best day forecast-wise for the week. So we drove down to the Oxen-Fell road (near Yew tree tarn), and walked the fells both sides of the road - Black Crag (or Black Fell as it appears in the Wainwright books) and Holme Fell - between Yew Tree tarn and Hodge Close. It never really got light, and threatened with a few spots of rain, but we did both, and had a great walk.

Ended the walk by walking through Hodge Close, which is well known to many of my past guests. Was very surprised to see them digging up what was the flat area adjacent the car park, and quarrying smaller slate pieces from there.

Now my total sits at 130/214
