Man at work
I didn’t expect to have a ‘pic to go’ at five past nine this morning !!
It was another three event day, all at home. The first to arrive at 8.50 was this plumber, looking to discover why we are experiencing an awful intermittent smell in the utility room. It has been worse since we started with the torrential rain a couple of weeks ago. He thinks the the problem is nothing to do with the plumbing system, so the next trade to arrive will be someone to look at the drains.
The next bloke to arrive at 9am was from the groundworks team. That was quickly resolved as someone had come in advance and fixed the manhole out front so that the whole thing didn’t rock dramatically when you stood on it. The tree that is next to it is not quite dead, only pretending, so will be monitored for signs of life.
So two jobs done by 9.15. The third one was a delivery of meat for our new freezer at about 12.30, all the way from bonnie Aberdeenshire. To be enjoyed in the coming weeks.
In the interim we worked on the garden tidying up the pots and moving things around. I reseeded an area of lawn adjacent to the paved area at the back of the garage. It’s a bit late, but worth a try rather than leaving the soil bare. I can have a second attempt in the spring if it doesn’t work. The grass seed box had a natty dispensing system at the side, which worked beautifully. A new one on me.
The rest of the day hasn’t been so productive so far, but I might get something done this evening.
Ps The plumber was talking on his phone to someone whilst lying on the floor.
