Garden upheaval!

The piles of old fence panels and huge amounts of honeysuckle and ivy lie in our back garden this morning. I tried not to watch as the men (accidentally) knocked the iris plants which grow at the back of the pond!
Now we have four new, paler fence panels, free of green growth and fixed between strong new posts. It looks different but presents another gardening challenge!
What shall we plant in front of the fence rather than over it!
