West End Musical Hallowe'en

This evening was the miniMinx's debut in the West End!

There was, of course, no way that we were going to miss that, so we set off early from Salford, this morning, dropped Dan's birthday present off, had a tortuous drive across London from Finchley Road to Tower Hamlets, dropped off the car, and then made our way by DLR and tube to the Union Jack Club, to meet my folks, brother, and Dan for lunch. Phew!

After lunch Dan insisted on taking the Minx and I across to a 'meadery' that he's discovered. The bar is called Gosnells, and it primarily - possibly exclusively - serves mead. Dan has struck up enough of a friendship with the bar staff that his band, Running Standard, are playing there in December. We were also given lots of free samples!

In the evening we went across to the Lyric to see the show: West End Musical Hallowe'en. To be honest, it wasn't quite our bag, but I should point out that everyone else there was having an absolute blast.

And, of course, we were there to see the miniMinx, who was fantastic. You know, it doesn't so much surprise me that she dances so well - she has, after all been studying it for nearly five years - but rather just how rapidly she learns routines. At the start of this week, she knew none of the six dances that she performed flawlessly this evening. Incredible stuff.
