Les Drus, Chamonix

The mountain rescue had am open day with demos today in Chamonix. Watched them do some dropping off and picking up of pretend casualties. Great to watch but a little to close to last weekends events for me to fully enjoy it. The helicopters are amazing and so fast. The downdrafts were very welcome in this heat.

Highlight for me was them lowering down a team member with his dog! Often used here in search and rescues involving avalanches. The dog seemed to love it!

Lazy day other than that.... A wee wander round the busy market, lunch out in the sun, a wee read and then off out for dinner to friends down the valley. Could get used to this!
