The National Covid Memorial Wall

Covid hasn't gone away, and there are people still dying of it (though, thankfully, significantly fewer than at the height of the pandemic).  Names are still being added to this memorial wall, on the south bank of the River Thames opposite the Houses of Parliament.  Each heart represents one death, with the name of the person written on the heart.

We passed by this on our walk today around London.  One highlight of the day was to see the cars lined up ready for the London to  Brighton Veteran car run, which takes place tomorrow morning.  There were some splendid vehicles in outstanding condition, with owners/drivers only too happy to discuss the history and operation of their vehicles. I wish them all luck for tomorrow.

On another note, the weather forecast all yesterday, even late into the evening, was for heavy rain all day today.  When I woke up this morning, the forecast was for sunny intervals and no rain at all.  How could the forecast change so dramatically overnight?  Fortunately the new forecast was right - well, until about 4pm when there was a little rain, by which time the forecast was for rain!   Undoubtedly the most reliable weather guide is to look out of the window.
