Alfama

This district of Lisbon is truly charming, with a never-ending sequence of tiny praças, terracotta roofs, steep steps, peeling paint, narrow passages, faded pastel colours, pensioners poking out from windows and reams of drying washing. I very much enjoyed my afternoon walk around Alfama.
