Escudo

I cut a forlorn figure embarking on my journey back to Tanzania. Two weeks of holiday with mostly successful blocking of work concerns have been very good for the soul.

A gripe is the cheeky rascal who gave me this 200 escudo coin I think concealed in some change, masquerading as a 2 Euro coin. Escudos have not been used as tender in Portugal since 2002, so someone is playing the long game here with whatever they still had when the banks stopped accepting the currency.
