Gilt of Cain

Lovely walk through London this morning, cold and bright. I so enjoy exploring there’s always something new to find. Near Fenchurch Street station I followed a sign and found this sculpture. Unveiled by Bishop Tutu it’s a collaboration between sculptor Michael Visocchi and poet Lemn Sissay. It commemorates the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade in 1807. I found it very moving.
