Wet Webs

These webs were spun along almost all vegetation at the edge of the lake. This particular web was very symmetrical and very complex. Flies were rising up from the vegetation below and I watched one trying to find its way out of this web.
I've always associated flies with warmer weather. However even taking walks in the snow, and with the temperatures around freezing we still see flies around. We don't see the spiders but since they are spinning these webs they are also still around.
The webs show up really well because everything is so damp, water droplets covering everything just now. As I walked the sun broke through, albeit weakly, which helped pick out the webs too.
The picture is taken using the iPhone's "Portrait" mode, defocussing everything except the subject. I also took a picture of the next-door web using the normal mode so the background, though not sharp, is understandable. There's still plenty of ice on the lake.
