Floods and Reflections

Yesterday it rained a lot, but it was also +5°C and the combination of melting snow and all that rain meant there was a lot of water around. A lot of road drains were blocked by leaves and soggy snow, which didn't help matters.
Our local town of Härnösand was on the morning national news as one of the places where the fire service had been really busy pumping water out of people's houses. The council sent out a lot of information including advice that if a large puddle was forming on the road outside your house it might be a good idea to grab a rake and clear leaves or snow away from any drains! It could make the difference between that water staying outside your house or not!
Our house and garden did okay. Our earth cellar has about a cm of water on the floor but it will drain away fairly quickly, and even if that's more water than "normal" it's not unusual for it to have a puddle on the floor so we make sure the only stuff on the floor is not affected by water.
Today it hardly rained at all but the melting continues and the day was grey and murky, with mist drifting around.  The picture is taken at the bottom of our hill, by the big lake. As you can see, here and in the extra, it has got a bit bigger than usual but shallow flood water makes a good mirror.
I spent the morning working on my photographs from the Camper van trip down to Portugal and back. There was quite a contrast between those sunny pictures and the November world outside my window!
