Scenic Cruising Down the Danube
Today we continued our journey on the Danube from Budapest on our way to Amsterdam. We passed through some gorgeous scenery with many vineyards dotting the steep hillsides, and charming little villages with little houses that reminded me of loaves of Hovis bread!
This is a picture of Schloss Schönbühel, an impressive riverside castle near the town of Melk (famous for its abbey). Right now, Mr. W is off on a tour of the abbey while I opted to remain aboard the ship because I didn't sleep very soundly last night. (I've managed to catch a cold -- no doubt from the miserable man I sat near on the plane on the way to Europe ... he hacked and sneezed and blew his nose all the way across the Atlantic, and then stuffed his revolting used Kleenexes into the seat pocket in front of him!)
Extras: A particularly cheerful building on the banks of the Danube, and two photos of Melk Abbey courtesy of the intrepid Mr. W!
