What's Vertical?
Another lovely day. A slight breeze and not much cloud. On my lunchtime walk I notice this Rowan tree. A lovely colour in the sunshine. All the trees at this point grow in different directions away from the horse chestnut tree on the left had side, which has been pruned back. The horse chestnut tree used to have a much larger canopy, so all the small trees planted beside it grew at an angle to get the best sunlight. This must have included the Horse Chestnut tree at one stage, before the houses were build, as it too leans quite alarmingly. Everything being on a slant, it even makes the house on the right hand side look like it has been built at a jaunty angle.
Afternoon walk was on my own as my partner had a craft class. As with previous evenings, cloud has moved in, so everything looks pretty dark. However I prefer the quieter days to the stormy ones.
