Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR went to the local gym for two classes, so her step count was drastically reduced today. (But still pretty impressive!)

I didn't have a coffee in the house in the morning, as JR bought the wrong kind of milk (to try) but it was like water (fat free), so I was in need of a coffee by mid morning. We set off, him dragging me past the Red Box of course, and headed along the Meadows to Summerhall. We haven't been there for a while, and it's one cafe he doesn't mind going into, for some reason.

They've shut off the big room, and it's now a lot smaller, but there were spare tables. Although NO croissants - they'd just had about 100 people in, she apologised. Though there was a spare slice of lemon drizzle cake, which was very acceptable.

The other reason I like going to Summerhall is that I can get a bus back along the road if I want. Today I wanted.

JR had been to the supermarket. I run towards the kitchen to see what goodies are there, but Archie runs the other way, to the front door, because he HATES the sound of the fridge door beeping. It happened ONCE, years ago, when he was a wee lad, and he's never forgotten. We're very careful not to let that happen, but he still runs away.

JR and Archie then went out in the afternoon.
