Evening Rambling

It’s rained all day, driving rain along with wind gusting to 40mph. It’s felt wild and miserable.

Merlin and Andy stayed indoors only to venture out late this afternoon when the rain finally stopped.

I also stayed inside, at my desk. I had several meetings and the combination of the weather, lack of physical exercise and a poor night of sleep meant my brain struggled to find clarity. It’s definitely harder to get my thoughts flowing freely and creatively as I get older, and this knocks my confidence at times, especially when I’m working with fresh energetic young minds.

After work I ventured out for a walk. The dark colder evenings make this harder to do but it’s an important part of my day and helps to keep me on an even keel. It’s especially useful for reflection and closing the working day so I can try to relax in the evenings. But the lighter days are so much more joyful!
