In limbo
G has really made progress today. He put battens up in the ceiling at the end of the dining room and in the big area in front of the new ranchslider, put insulation in and then gib board over the top. Now all that’s required is to get the stopping done and the new ceilings can be painted. He did really well, because it’s jolly hard work.
I was about to go for a walk mid-morning, but we got a call to say that the team who are going to install our new heating system were in the area and would call in for a site visit. Unfortunately, by the time they’d arrived, inspected where all the radiators are going to go, checked underneath the house for access and sorted out a couple of issues, it had started to rain and continued all afternoon, so I didn’t actually get out at all.
There wasn’t a lot we could do, so we researched roller blinds online and sent off for some samples. The quote we received yesterday was quite eye watering, so we decided we’ll explore other options as well as getting a couple more quotes.
I felt extremely cold all day as the doors were open and there was a southerly blowing, so as soon as G left at the end of the day, the doors were closed and the heat pump went on. It took some time, but I did eventually warm up.
There’s just the ceiling in our bedroom to insulate and install the gib board, an area of ceiling in the dining room to reinstate where the chimney from the wood burner was removed and, on Saturday, G is going to come and make the concrete slab underneath where MrMacD has been digging. It’s all coming together.
The blip isn’t very exciting, but it shows the progress made today.
