Zukunftstag 2023 (National Future Career Day)

What is this day?
One day a year, girls and boys in the 5th to 7th grade accompany a friend or family member to their workplace or take part in exciting special projects. Following the motto «New Perspectives for Girls and Boys», they discover professions and areas of work and life where their gender is underrepresented and, most importantly, they learn numerous opportunities exist that they may never have realised were open to them.
That is why hundreds of companies, organisations and educational institutions across Switzerland will open their doors on National Future Career Day.


My godson joined today the program offered by my company. As he lives in Berne he had to get up at 4.45 am and then travel to Zürich. He was able to join the prepared program with a total of 16 children and liked it very much. It seems that this year there were far more children that wanted to join than places available. 

All day long it was interesting and funny to see adults accompanied
by children. Starting early morning at the railway station, looking into the restaurant kitchen a small girl was preparing some food and even when travelling home after work a little girl was checking our train tickets (with her mother being the conductor). 

What is in the blip? Some sweets my godson brought from Berne (with the logo of the local football club) - and they disappeared very quickly in our office.
