Thursday: Semper Fidelis

K and I were invited to the US Marine Ball tonight, courtesy of my American colleague.  It was held up in Belize City so we drove up this afternoon (after having to attend to a hasty car repair on account on two screws stuck in our tyre).  

The Marine Ball was good but a lot tamer than those I’ve experienced in the past - although, to be fair, my last one was 30+ years ago.  And the tameness was not a bad thing - I’m way past anything more these days.    

Their most senior representative was a female Brigadier-General who insisted on calling me ‘ma’am’.  I should have been ‘ma’aming’ her……..
