The Loner

I took a lazy trip by car into Lightwater Country Park, grabbed a coffee and went for a wander. 

There was still plenty of fungi in the woodland areas, but few birds to be seen on the ponds. However, I spotted this lone young cormorant taking advantage of one of the fishing stages. He was totally unfazed by me or a passing dog walker with 2 large dogs, and I was able to get up quite close to capture this rather wistful shot with a background of gold from the late afternoon sun on the surrounding autumn trees reflecting in the water.
