Going Bananas

It’s exhausting being Newt! • This catnip banana is a favorite here. Both Newt and Ducky enjoy hugging and licking it, but Newt is far more dramatic rolling back and forth kicking it until she’s had enough and tosses it aside. This is her “I’m blitzed and exhausted” look :) • Who knew bananas could be so appealing? • Today Veteran’s Day is being celebrated here in the US; it’s actually tomorrow. A day for recognizing and honoring veterans who served in our armed forces • MrsP’s Dad, Charlie, served in the Army during WWII as an MP stateside; three Uncles on her maternal side fought in WWII: one a medic in Anzio, one a truck driver in Germany, and one in Algiers • Eddie, my Dad, and his two younger brothers joined the Navy following the bombing of Pearl Harbor. All served on different ships, and my Dad was a mechanic. His youngest brother, Robert, was killed a few months later, at only 17 years old • Keeping those fighting in current wars in our thoughts and prayers, as we remain hopeful and vigilant for Peace.
