The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month...

This is Veteran's Day, a day to remember all who served; all who continue to serve our country.  I restored these two photos, dad at the top, his brother on the bottom, both veterans of WWII.  The helmet and rifle on the right is a photo I took when I visited the museum at the American Cemetery in Normandy, France.  Such an incredibly moving experience.  I've add in the extras a collage of my brother and his two sons, also army veterans.  The final extra is a man who served in WWI from my town here in Maine.  I administer our local history blog and we posted several photos of WWI soldiers.  I inquired about his family and found out there is only one left and she is in a nursing home.  I will have it printed and send it to her.  Gift#312: all those who fought for our freedom.
