History

Situated in an area of London historically with very few pubs, following other uses it became a beer house in 1859;the same time that Whitechapel County Court opened next door.

It was named the Princess of Prussia in homage to the marriage in 1858 of Princess Victoria to Frederick William, Crown Prince of Prussia.
